CHURCH GOAL $2,000.00
other family member is a personal written affirmation that ordinarily does not get said. Write out on a piece of stationery or in a specially selected card your own completn of these sentences
‘What I like,, admire, or respect most about you is..0.11 “When you0..it makes me feel. . .and want ,to, ,,.“
“One iov.ng thing I have wanted to say to you is this,.
“In the name of Jesus Christ, who gave hmself to us,, I give to you00..
This last statement should describe a very personal asset or experience,, the possession of which would piease and enhance tie raci pienc Ex “John, I give to you, in the name of Christ,, belief in yourself as a beautiful person.11 Give the gift as if it were really going to happen and visualize each recipient so enhaiced, A word of caution here To use this part of the exercise as an occasion for
/ implied criticism0 C111 give you more respect for your elders” is to achieve the exact opposite purpose in enacting the gift of love at Christmas0
Gift wrap each note in a box, with ribbon, and name tag, Place it with the rest of the gifts in advance of Christmas. After gift opening timeç gather in a close circle and have each member share with his special gifts of affirmation, As each person shares, he is to select your the “gifts” given the one he would like most to have and tell why.
The overall pzpose of this family exerpise is to prompt ourselves in actually doing for each other what all the other gift’giving a and cardexchanging implies a personal affirmationat that time of the year whep we mark the coming into the world of Gods greatest gift his Son, Jesus.

DEACONS FOR THE WEEK OF DEC, 7.43
A plea for over 1200 Evangelistic workers to reinforce and replace those flOW serving on foreign fields points up the urgent need for our support0 Dr,, Davis Sandrs1 secretary for eastern and southern Africa say ‘We e pecially need young men and women who are graduates of our Seminaries with experience in Pastoral Work and church development.”
As we make our offerings this year to the Lottie -Moon Christmas Offering9 let us also pray that more and more of our young people will respond to Gods call to serve on these foreign fields where their serviis so des pezacely needed, The demarv3 for young dccters and nurses always exceeds the supply0 As we give of our material means this year to meet the needs of those already on the fiid with each gift let us join in praysr that some of our-own young people will feel the hand of God leading them toward Missionary Service and will zsspond with a citment of ‘Here am I,, Lord7 Send Me,’
Our church goal to Lottie Moon Christmas Off erng is $27000, We can and we will easily reach it with yoarhelp0 See you in church Sunday, Bible ifl hand.
FROM YOUR EDUCATION/YOUTH DIRECTORS
Christmas can be a beautiful time for Christ ians, Here is an exercise you and yours can do together at Christmas0 Call a family meet ing and seek agreement for all family membars to participate.
This family exercise alls for the exchange of a different kind of gift that does not cost money, You can subst±tute it for one of the gifts that you would have purchased9 and contribute that amount to the Christmas of a less fortunate family or to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering in your church,
The gift each family member gives to each
